Project Case Study

Bandwagon Roadshow — Live Event, Brand Storytelling, and TV Development

Overview

The Bandwagon Roadshow was a hybrid music and car culture event held at Festival Field at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on September 4, 2010. The event brought together over 15 nationally known acts across two stages along with a large‑scale classic car competition, creating a crossover experience for both concert audiences and automotive enthusiasts.

My role

I contributed to the project across event production, promotional storytelling, and media development, supporting both the live experience and how the event was positioned to audiences and partners. I also performed the voice‑over for the final marketing video, giving the campaign a clear narrative tone aligned with the event’s identity.

What made it distinct

The event was designed around a strong crossover concept: live music, custom cars, hot rods, and lowrider culture presented as one unified brand experience rather than separate attractions. The show also included the Florida Roadshow Competition, featuring hundreds of classic cars competing for $10,000 in cash, prizes, and custom‑built trophies, which expanded its appeal beyond a standard concert format.

Media development

Beyond the live event, Bandwagon Roadshow was developed as a television‑ready concept aimed at translating the culture, personalities, and energy of the show into a broader media property. The project was pitched while Speed Channel was still operating as a dedicated automotive network, prior to its rebrand as Fox Sports 1, which took effect on August 17, 2013.

Why it mattered

This project demonstrates my ability to work at the intersection of live event production, marketing, and entertainment development, not only producing an event but shaping its potential across multiple platforms. It also reflects experience in transforming a niche cultural concept, the intersection of car culture and live music, into a format with both audience engagement and broadcast potential.

Bandwagon Roadshow — Orlando, Florida
The Bandwagon Roadshow was a large‑scale music and car culture event held at Festival Field at the Orlando Citrus Bowl on September 4, 2010. Designed as a crossover experience for concert audiences and automotive enthusiasts, the event featured more than 15 nationally known acts on two stages alongside the Florida Roadshow Competition, where hundreds of classic cars competed for $10,000 in prizes.

My role  as Festival Director included production support, promotional storytelling, and media development, as well as providing the voice‑over for the final marketing video, helping define the tone and message of the event’s campaign.

Beyond the live show, the project was positioned as a television‑ready concept for the automotive entertainment space. The pitch was developed prior to the transition from Speed Channel to Fox Sports 1, which shifted away from dedicated automotive lifestyle programming and limited further development in that direction.
